dinghy storage - I want to suspend one from a garage ceiling?
Has anyone got any experience / tips and suggestions on the best way to suspend a mirror dinghy from a garage ceiling. I'm looking to store a mirror in my garage and the obvious place is to hang it from the ceiling (its very stong and will take the weight). I guess I will need some kind of strapping and some king of hoist to get it to the correct position... Someone must have done this already.

- First get some straps, then hang it upside down.
- if the garage is tall enough, consider a type of hinged "mez" floor with an electric or chain hoist for raising it. (like a loft ladder that i saw on a discovery program once).
- ive had one up there for years! simple block and tackle. just need to find your balance point. try en.wikipedia.org/wiki block-and-tackle, or just type in block and tackle down in that little search thingie
- i put a canoe on the garage ceiling use hooks and chains to hang it put the chains around the seat i put um around the metal bars but i dont think dignys have thoughs...
- I never done this. But, a few pulleys to raise. Couple of places to tie off. As mentioned, I would hang upside down. May help keep things from living there. You can probably use nylon rope wrapped around both ends. I would use straps. Set the pulleys in a little from the straps. This give like a pull toward center so something not slip off should it be hit some way.
- I woud'nt hang any weight that can fall on my head
