Garage storage? What are some of the best storage brands for a garage? We moved into a brand new house and have tons of tools/power tools and just stuff to put away....Craftsman seems to be going downhill. Any ideas? Thanks!
Can I sue my landlord for not disclosing the known possibility of flooding in the garage/storage area? Do landlords have to disclose these kinds of things? I lost a lot of property that I stored in my garage and connecting storage area due to a flash flood. My neighbors have informed me that this has happened many times but my landlord never told me of this possibility. He claims this has only happened once, 7 years ago, and it was because the city's storm drains were clogged. He has offered no compensation, only help removing ruined property. I have renter's insurance but it doesn't cover floods.
searching for garage storage cabinets and workbench? anyone know where to shop for affordable garage storage systems. I like units they sell at Sears by Craftsmen and Gladiator but they are out of my price range. I've checked Home Depot and Menards already. I don't want rubbermaid type. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I need ideas for garage storage that is rodent proof (spider proof too) Any ideas? OUr garage has rodents. We want to buy storage that will keep them out of our stuff once and for all. We hope that they stack well, so if we move we can just move the whole container to our next garage. Any ideas? The rubbermaid containers stack onto the centers of each others lids and if heavy can collaspse lid. Does anyone know a product that stacks staright up and down like onto it's sides creating a sturdier stack (as well as less wasted space)

Will storing a leather couch in a self storage garage damage the leather? I have a very nice leather couch that I paid $3500 for and now I'm moving in with my girlfriend and have no room for it. What do I need to check for or do to convert attic above garage for storage? I have a roof pitch that goes from about 3' to 20' above my garage, which allows me to stand erect in most of the area. I want to convert this to an attic storage. I have 2 x 8 ceiling joists running the width of a double garage. I would like to be able to put a lot of weight up there without having to worry about it. Would a ceiling support running down the middle of the garage with posts at each end be enough?

We are wanting to get overhead storage in our garage, any ideas on this and where we can get it from? do i need a building permit for a temporary storage garage? I have my car stored in a temporary storage tent in my yard and my neghbor called the city on me and now they said i have to take it down but it's only a temporary garage
If our landlord is using our garage for storage, can we ask for adjustment of rent? Our landlord is using our garage to store some of his belongings. He promised that everything would be removed by the first weekend that we were here. He came by as promised, but only took 1/3 of the stuff. There is still so much in there that we cannot park our one vehicle in there (two-car garage) or put our lawnmower, etc in there. As a result, all of our "garage" things are on our back patio. If it rains it'll be ruined. I tried calling him several times, but no answer or machine. I know he'll be by on the 1st for rent, how should I handle this? Thanks! Rats are pesting me!!I have a lower floor which i use it as Garage and storage room.My house is built into 3? floors. i oftentimes see rats stools in my balconies,outside windows,and the outside stairs.i have tried to make foods with poison for them and killed some.But thats not the problem.My concern is what should i do to let them go away and not come back to my place anymore.I just hate to hear their irritating sounds and presence of their disgusting and horrible feces.Any suggestions?
Whats your opinion on Garage/Tools storage cabinets? Gladiator is a nice line, but expensive. I see they have a cheaper line called Gladiator Cadet. They look very similar to STACK ON. Does anyone know if they are made by the same company? I'd like to buy some garage style cabinets because a rolling tool box like Craftsman really won't work in my garage. Do you think its fair for the police and a garage to charge storage after dealing with a car theft? i recently found myself in the situation of having my car stolen, it was recovered the same night, but however in a condition that was undrive-able. i later found myself 3 days later to be paying out £191 for my car because it had been in a garage awaiting the police to finger print it, £50 for scaping, £36 for 3 days storage and £105 of this was for the police for dealing with the matter, how is this fair why should i have to pay this out!? Its unfair to me, i lose my car then have to pay £12 a day for it to sit in a garage while it waits to be finger printed!! i also need to add the facts that as my car was 18yrs old i was told by my isurance that i'd end up paying them £135 excess to claim and only get £50 back for the cost of the car, therefor lossing my NCB and increasing my premiums. And i've not got my car back as its a write off, because of the damage that had been done to it. so again how is this right/fair?? i could have scapped the car myself, for free without all the cost and hasel!!!

Ever heard of a storage/garage where you can lock up your car also work on it on the weekends? I live in an apartment (no garage). Down the street I'm paying $150 per month for a big storage unit the size of a garage right now. But like all other storage places they don't allow people to work on their car there on the weekends. Can a new landlord take away storage to make into a new dwelling? Just got a new landlord who raised the rent 55.00 and has informed me my storage/garage will be turned into another unit next month. this car has been sitting in storage in a garage for five years... is it going to be drive-able? i have an opportunity to take this car off the owner's hands for virtually free. the owner did not take any special care in storing it-- all the fluids, etc., still in there like the day it was stored. it's a 96 altima, very low mileage. would it be worth it to repair/restore? or, is it just good for scrap parts now?
