Equipment in my garage. Should I be worried about the temperature dropping below freezing? Here on Long Island, NY, I'm concerned about equipment stored in my garage- compressor, pressure washer and mosquito magnet. It's my first year here, should I worry about the temperature in my garage dropping below freezing? I don't think the one car garage is insulated. I just installed a dedicated 20 amp circuit to the garage. It is attached to my house, but only has an exterior entrance. It's impractical to bring this equipment into the basement. Any advice?

Can I Leave DJ Equipment in the Garage? Recently I just moved into a home from an apartment and I need to store my DJ Equipment where there would be easy access. I have a 2 1/2 bay garage that is *not* heated. There is no moisture issues in the garage but since I live in Northeast Ohio it gets very cold. Recording Equipment for Garage Band? I already have the RP150 which you can record guitar and bass onto Garage Band with a USB cable, but I was wonder about a microphone. I want to use slatbox storage boxes in my laundry and garage to stow pool equipment and heavy tools and wonder if they could hold up to 45lbs? Necessary equipment for a garage band? So, my friends and I recently started a garageband. I'm a lifelong guitar player, yet have never been in a band so I lack the knowledge of what I need performance-wise for the whole band. So far, we have: -2 guitars -a bass -3 amps -drum set -all necessary cables for those items -distortion pedals So, we would like to be able to have a singer and be able to amplify them. Anybody knowledgeable in what that requires? Also, if you have any other recommended equipment (as you can see, I don't really have much of an idea of what I need).

Running power to a Garage- Need electricians help? I have a detached garage that is about 30 feet from my house. I want to run power to the garage. I plan on having a garage door opener, light, and 3 outlets. I dont plan on running any heavy equipment (maybe a small compressor). I though I could just bury some romex in 1.5" PVC pipe but I was told not to use romex as it is designed to run in a certain heat range. I dont plan on using a sub-panel in the garage. So here are my questions? -How deep does the wire have to be buried? -Would 12 gauge wire on a 20 amp breaker be sufficient or should I go with 10 gauge? What are my options on burying the wire? What tipes of wire can be run in PVC and buried underground? Any other tips would also be appreciated. Thanks! I have considered a sub panel but think it migh be a bit beyond my capabilities... also, its a good 100ft run of wire to the garage. 6 gauge might turn bout to be a bit pricey.. copper is expensive. Do most recommend me using a sub-panel?

could I start a business in my garage? This is in Indianapolis, IN. I am a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, and on my free time I repair cars and trucks in my garage at home, I do the repairs very cheap, since I have no insurance, bonds ect. I have a garage door replacement question. Can anyone please assist? My garage door is not working properly. Two weeks ago, it stopped working, so a repairmen came out and replaced the plastic gears inside the garage door opener. He advised me that my springs were pretty old and the weight of the wood door is what caused the plastic gears to wear down. When I was leaving for work this morning, it did the exact same thing as two weeks ago -- just stopped working and made a grinding sound when I hit the button to raise the door. What needs replaced...the actual door and springs AND the garage door opener? Where is the best place to purchase all of this equipment? What's a rough estimate to replace all of these things -- the actual door, the springs, and the garage door opener -- if you think I need it all replaced? I am not handy when it comes to garage door problems, so any insight is MUCH appreciated. We live in Jacksonville, FL (just in case there is someone local reading this). Thank you!
what should we do with this broken down Acura Integra in our garage? i live in a house with the landlord and 2 other roommates, and one of the old roommates moved away, leaving his 1992 broken down Acura Integra in the garage. Where can we drop off the junk in our garage? This week our family will be cleaning out the garage. However, before anything can be done, we must first find a location where we can legally dump these things. What equipment do we need to record on a computer? Hey, I am a part of your typical garage band. We are trying to record a few of our songs to put up on our myspace. The problem is that we have a minimal budget ($100 or less) to do it with. We have decent microphones, a soundboard, and a music editing software, but we don't know what we need to record directly into the computer. Yeah, so me and my friends decided that we want to start a band that's going to be a little a classical metal rock type thing, sorta like metallica. Anyway. New to Solar:Can I use solar panels designed for ATV batteries to power my garage lights? I've found some $50-80 solar panels for 15 watts of power used to keep ATV or boat batteries charged. Will these panels be able to be used to power my on-at-dusk light bulbs or will I have to buy other adaptive equipment? This would be my first solar panel purchase and I'm wanting to be able to add panels as I can and as I learn how to use them effectively.

Cost of new AUTO REPAIR GARAGE location? I'm doing a feasibility study for my tech writing class and I'm not particularly familiar with the cost of buying a new auto repair garage. What would be the purchase price of auto repair garage? What would be included (modifications, tune-ups and oil changes equipment)?
Best new garage shop floor surface? We're looking to redo the shop floor in our automotive repair facility. It's 15 year old shop with oil soaked concrete and little to no downtime is a must. Cost is important, but longevity and durability is higher on the totem poll. I've found three main routes to take: 1) Epoxy -- One or two part systems with primers, top coats, etc. Major problem is expense of the downtime required to shot blast and the week needed for the epoxy to completely cure before resuming heavy duty work on it. 2) Tile -- Boss's favorite, but I foresee it being prone to breaking very easily using floor jacks, jack stands and other regular use of heavy equipment. Plus it's extremely expensive to install. 3) Interlocking PVC tiles. These seem to be the best option, but I can not find a good reference to get their long term opinions on. This is too expensive to be the guiney pig on. This material would be very nice on tech's feet, very durable and easy to replace if damaged. Your thoughts?

how do i identify old military ammunition? i recently purchased a bunch of old military equipment at a garage sale. i want to know how i can correctly identify what the various pieces of small and large arms ammunition are. they are in decent enough condition as to be able to real most/all of the numbers on the butts. they appear to be from ww1-ww2, possibly USA / German / Japanese , ranging from large rifle rounds to a 'drill cartridge' tank rounds (identified). ; what the heck do all the little numbers on the bottom mean?

Insurance for renting a lock-up garage? I am considering renting a lock-up garage in the UK and want to know if it is possible to get some sort of insurance policy to cover the building and contents (I currently do not have any other property insurance e.g home insurance).
