How do you build shelves for a garage? I am currently looking for a guide to building garage shelving units. Not looking for anything too complex, just something I will be able to store boxes and so forth on. Something I can anchor to the wall but does not need to be anchored to the ceiling or floor. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Can I drill into masonary block? The cement blocks used to build garage foundations and basements? I would like to install garage cabinets. The garage is built with cement blocks. Can the cabinets attach to the cement blocks by drilling into the blocks?

The garage is 32'x28' one story, 2x6 walls framed 16" on center, T-111 siding and roof trusses running 35' across the building.( all roof trim and soffits included) It will have 2 -10' garage doors (doors and installation are a seperate price) 1 entry door and no windows. Also to be built is a breezeway, which consists of 2- 5"x16"x14' engineered beams that have to be cut into the existing house walls, that carry roof trusses and tie the existing house roof and the new garage roof together, creating 2 valleyes on the new garage roof, no walls below.( NOTE: the garage sits at 15 degree offset from the house) Also the roof will be covered with metal roofing. There is a slab already poured. I live in New Hampshire The price is for LABOR ONLY With the breezway, the total square footage is 1088' The project will take 3-4 weeks Is 15K a good price for labor to put this building up. Too high? Too low?
best way to build a garage with living quarters for a decent price? Ok, so we have decided to build a 2 story garage. situation is that we are going to live in the garage while building our house. We need 3 bedrooms, a kitchen, bathroom, living area, w/d hookup..pretty much a decent sized apartment. I am willing to have 2 bedrooms upstairs and one bedroom downstairs. All three upstairs would be perfect though. We want warmth in the winter and cool in the summer. Kitchen size is not important, as long as i can store some food and cook. Is there any cheap way to do this. garage dimensions are another thing...woudl a 30'x40' garage do. Anyone with any advice please help. If you have done this before that would be excellent. Anyone with "free" floor plans? that would be awesome!!

Real estate agents please help! Should I build a Garage even though it would below standard in depth? I would actually be closing in a carport and putting in a garage door. The roof of the carport is part of the roof of the house so it would be a really big job if I tried to make it deeper. It is 16 ft wide and 19 ft deep. I know it would not be ideal but I think we would at least be able to park a nissan pathfinder in there. Also, if we built a garage it would cover the part of our house that is an obvious add-on. My husband restores cars and what not right now he is working on a 1967 Ford Bronco he wants to put a lift on it so we will need a bigger garage where he can pull the bronco in and out of the garage with ease once the lift is put on it.
