If price isn't a big issue, which brand and type of garage door opener is best? I'm not too worried about price, b/c you can always find a deal....I also believe in buying the right product the first time so I don't sink $$ into replacing it more frequently. That being said, which brand of garage door opener is best: Liftmaster, Chamberlain, Craftsman, Genie? And which type: belt, screw, chain? Thanks for your help.
Want black and white checkered tile garage floor - what type of tile should I use? I'm building a new garage, and I want to install a black and white checkered tile floor in a portion of it. What type of tile should I use? I know linoleum wouldn't work, it has to be a harder surface than that. I'm not looking for the interlocking rubber/plastic floor tile, I'm looking for tile that you actually glue down permanently. I wondered if asphalt tile is what I should use, but I've also heard that asphalt tile is easily softened by solvents and greases (which it is bound to see). I've looked at the epoxy coatings like ucoatit, and I'm still considering them. But, overall, I think the tile might be a better option. They're easy to repair / replace individual tiles, and they've got a classic appearance. Does anyone happen to know what type of tile would be best to use?
are there any grants available in Cambridgeshire, England for a garage type extension? We are in receipt of WFTC and child tax credit. Get council tax rebate. Also DLA but am advised grant is unlikely for the disability The garage extension would actually serve to free up an outhouse to create a bedroom for my eldest son. At present my 2 sons share a bedroom and my disabled son neds a room to himself. Unfortunately, Asperger's does not qualify for a disabled grant as it is not a physical disability. The boys sharing a room puts a huge strain on the family. Unfortunately also I don't know how the authorities would view the outhouse being used as a bedroom, it is not insulated but is coccooned by other buidings. we are desperate for another bedroom and this is the only way we think we could afford it.

Type of paint for garage floor? When I bought my house one thing that bothered me was the paint chipping and feeling of the garage floor. Well, I stripped the paint and put Killz (sealer and primer) on the floor.. But what kinda paint do you paint a garage floor with? Oil Base? Water Base? do they make a waterproof paint or should i paint it and put a water sealer over it? I guess I could just ask the people at home depot, even though everyone that works there is about 17 and doubt they have knowledge or experience in painting.
if the wheel bearing is bad what type of garage do I take it to; regualr shop or tire shop? I was driving tonight when I heard a squealy sort of sound from the back left of the car, then that noise was replaced with a loud (inside of an airplane) noise. When I got it into the driveway and turned off the car, there was a burst of smoke from the back left tire. My neighbour said it might be ther "wheel"/"tire" bearing and not to drive it. My question is what kind of shop would I call, some place like Midas/Canadian Tire and have it towed there, or a tire repair shop and have them come to the house?
What color & type of paint for garage cabinets.? They are wood cabinets. Right now they are painted flat white (big mistake, shows everything, impossible to clean). I want a clean light look. The garage is for storage, but I cleaned up the "spider corner" by painting the inside of the cupboards white. I was so encouaged by the improvement that I want to do more improving!
What type of heater can I put in my garage? I'm building a house and want to keep my dogs in the garage. The garage is insulated, but there is no heater out there. Please give me specific links and models so I know exactly what to get! Thanks!
what is difference between built-in garage and attached garage? When I took a look at my house appraisal report, there are three different garage type. Attached, dettached and built-in. Are shop staff in garage type supermarkets getting more ignorant? I go to a local mini supermarket type petrol forecourt to get my lunch which is part of a well known chain in the North of Ireland (spar) My items are scanned through but instead of being told the total the staff person just stands there like i'm supposed to read her mind i'm the one who has to ask the for the total. Whats she expect me to do give her a 100 when theres not enough change in the till to break it. All the staff in this shop do it, but i see it happen in other mini supermarket/petrol forecourts all the time. Is there a disease making them ignorant or are they being told by management to hold customers there in case i fancy a cadburys creme egg which are conviently placed in front of every till. His nibs: i'm on a low wage and give 100 percent of my best. I used to work in the retail market on builders yards and warehouses on minimum wage. No customer was ever left standing lost with a sales docket when i was around. Even when it was my tea break. I think there is a conspiracy because of the lack of trade due to rising oil prices petrol forecourts are trying to keep customers there as long as they can
Garage Doors with manual Override? My garage isn't connected to the home....is there a type of garage door opener that has the manual override outside? Maybe with a key or wrench in case of power outage?? Or one with a battery backup?
Which kind of garage door is better? So my old garage door is trashed, and I need a new one. My garage door opener will work on either panneled garage doors, or the single piece ones. I also want to install one of those automatic garage door lock devices, because I think garage doors are a major security risk. Which type of garage door should I get? Another single piece one with hinges, or a sectioned one that rolls up on tracks? Which one can I make the most secure?
