What kind of garage flooring do you recommend? I want to cover my garage floor. What's the best product to use. I dont want to pay out the nose, but I do want it to look good and last. Both of my cars are in good shape meaning there's no oil leaks. Not at this time anyways.

We would like to install either a nice carpet, interlocking tiles, or some other flooring to cover the concrete...we use this space more like another room (ie: to host BBQ's etc...) Any suggestions? Should I buy unfinished, unbundled hardwood flooring that has been sitting in a garage for a year? I have a friend that has offered his extra wood flooring to me at a good price. My concern is that it has been sitting in his garage for a year, unbundled. Will the wood be warped beyond hope? Am I crazy to attempt to sand and finish the floor myself, with no experience? Does anyone know if you can paint linoleum with a garage floor epoxy paint? I want to paint my kitchen floor, and I really like the look of those chip paint garage floors. I need to know if you can use that kind of paint on linoleum. Also, can you use that type of paint on a countertop?

How to Insulate a garage floor? I want to insulate my 20x20 concrete garage floor, to stop some of the cold & dampness from coming thru. I want something fairly inexpensive, but durable. Maybe some large rubberized mats that can be cut to fit? I also don't want to raise the floor too much by adding thick insulation. My question is about painting the garage floor which is concrete. Last fall I painted the garage floor.? Last fall I painted the garage floor with concrete paint but I have noticed that where the vehicles go in and out it seems to take the concrete paint up off of the floor. I am planning on giving it another coat right now but am wondering will this always be the same. Will the concrete paint always lift off from the weight of the vehicles due to the tires going in and out? Am I being too anal about this issue? Can I resurface my garage floor? or is this something I should leave to the professionals? how much $$$? We want to convert our garage into a bedroom and need to seal or resurface the garage floor. It will eventually have carpeting or maybe tile. The previous owners used the garage as a kennel, and the concrete smells like the dogs... We have cleaned it many times and it is much much better, but we still want it sealed. My husband and my father are very mechanically inclined and handy. Can they do this themselves or should we hire a professional? What would it cost either way?
