If you have an automatic garage opener does the door look automatically? My garage door dosent lock right now and I dont have a key to it,If i get a automatic garage door opener will it lock by itself when it closes.

Craftsman 1/2 hp garage door opener will not work - no power at all? We tried to program an opener in my husband's truck & this morning none of the remotes, wall buttons or my husband's truck would open the door. The light will not come on & my husband's truck was dead! We had to jump the vehicle. Is there a battery to be replaced in the garage opener; could the two not working be related?? I tried unplugging the unit & there is still NO life. HELP!

Please give input on trouble shooting a garage door opener that has a mind of its own....? We got out last garage opener about 4 years ago. I have a car in which you have an option to program a button on the console that will open the garage door as well. I have never had an issue, but here lately its 50/50 on if the opener on my car console will work. Many times I have to get out and open the garage because it refuses to work. Could the problem be that the opener is not getting its signal clearly for some reason? Do you think its an issue with the car button or the garage opener? I am resigned to getting out of my truck each time and use the wall control and lower the door to a point where I can I can slip right thru and use the remote to close the door completely. In short, I have to use both the wall control and remote control to open and close my garage door. Any suggestions? Help!

The light bulb on my garage door opener blows out too quickly? I have a Wayne Dalton garage door opener. The garage door opener takes a 60W light bulb. For the last month or so I have had to replace this bulb about 5 to 6 times. The bulbs are blowing out way too soon. The bulbs that I am installing are GW Reveal 60W bulbs. How do I best set up a garage door opener signal receiver? I have a remote in one car and use the built-in transmitter in my other car. When using the built-in transmitter the garage door opens fine, but the signal does not always seem to get through to close the door, so I have to push the transmitter 10-12 times to close the door. Is it possible to hook up the garage door opener without using the saftey sensors? My dog chewed off one of the saftey sensors for the garage door opener. I tried to salvage it but was unable. Is there anyway I can hook up the wires to the opener and bypass the sensors so I dont have to buy a new sensor? The reason that I would like to find a way to bypass these is because the dog is only a puppy and chews everything this is the second set of eyes that we have bought. We have sprayed them blocked them and it doesnt work. Its the only place that he can be tied out so there is no way to move the dog to another location. I have a Linear garage door opener and it refuses to close during the day. Do I need to replace sensors? I was told to clean the sensors to make sure dirt wasnt blocking transmission and i did it. I was told the sunlight could blanch the beam and to move the sensors back away from the door and that didnt work. When the door is closed the red light indicates it is receiving transmission however it occasionally flickers. When the door is open the red light goes off completely with occasional flickers. Could this mean I have bad sensors? The garage door opener is approx. 3 years old and has never closed during the day without a manual override. Thanks for you help!!! If they are bad do I have to buy specific ones? each sensor has a green light and the receiver has a red light when it receives the beam. when i shake the wires the green power light of the sender goes on and off, maybe the sender isnt getting enough power.

Garage door opener not working? I have a garage door opener that does not work when it gets cold. It worked fine all summer. I greased everything with white lithium grease. That didnt do the trick. When the door got stuck last, I disconnected the door and just ran the opener and the chain moved freely (opened and closed several times without issue). It seems the problem is not in the opener. The door opens freely if I do it by hand. What sounds like the problem here... Does this sound like a case where I need to change the down or up force? Should I change both?
